Zack and I just returned from our fabulous visit to C in Atlanta. We immersed ourselves in the city lifestyle, dining, relaxing, and soaking it all up. Our amazing host used her considerable connections to introduce us to some of the best spots in town. We toured the city on Segways, caught a Braves game, ate gourmet food, and managed to get in plenty of sibling downtime. Here are a few pictures . . .

Here we are at Stats sports bar, fueling up before the Braves game. Notice the beer taps at the table. What will they think of next?

Close up of our very own beer taps, did I mention that they were at the table?!? Notice also our healthy, low-fat nacho appetizer.

Arriving at Turner Field before the game. The Braves lost to the Cardinals, but that did not dampen our spirits. What did dampen mine, however, was the sweltering humidity, which had me dripping with sweat in the media section behind home plate. Luckily, C had scored us entry in the air-conditioned VIP lounge, the 755 Club (which Zack pointed out was named after Hank Aaron's batting average). After relocating, we were much more comfortable and had a great time. After the game, we stopped in at the gift shop, and ended up getting so carried away that we were the last ones there. What fun!

Cool and refreshed, post-splash at Thunder River, Six Flags. After waiting in line in the heat for almost an hour, the ride was great fun and a welcome cool-off. We also did a high powered roller coaster, which was exciting but in my case, slightly nauseating (C thinks that maybe if I had opened my eyes at all it might have helped). The heat was intense at the concrete jungle of an amusement park, and after a few hours, we unanimously decided to retreat to C's neighborhood for pizza and beer.

This photo was taken on one of our first nights in Atlanta at a concert in the Botanical Gardens. We had a fabulous time. C took us on a tour of the gardens first, which featured a breathtaking moving sculpture exhibit. Then we settled in the Britt-style venue to enjoy the music. We got so carried away chatting and dancing that we 1) were shushed by the guy in front of us and 2) were asked to keep the sidewalk clear by security. A great time had by all! (Well, maybe not the guy in front of us. . . )

Zack and I spent a lot of quality time poolside. This where we coined the phrase "Dip or Sip," as we grappled with the ever present quandary of whether to open a freshie, or jump in the pool for a cooldown first. We were also careful to include lots of Drips (water, of course) to keep hydrated. On Monday, the day of the Braves game, we hung out here all day until we received a text from C: she was sending a car for us at 5:45, could we be ready by then? Hmmm  . . . The second most common phrase heard around the pool: "This is the life."

I am including a couple pictures of C's new condo. The rounded wall at the right is her bedroom peeking in to the living area. It has a great layout that makes the most of the small space.

Notice Rosie's artwork adorning the walls. The whole place is
decorated beautifully, and the fluffy clouds in the paintings are echoed on the kitchen ceiling.

THANK YOU C FOR YOUR GREAT HOSPITALITY!!!
