Yay! We found a house!
We have been looking extensively in Ashland, Talent, and Phoenix, and the minute we saw it, we knew this one in Phoenix was it. In fact, Eric didn't even need to peek in the windows or tour the house to make his decision. When we drove up, he said, "That's the one. Call the realtor." I, of course, already knew I liked it because I had scoped it out with Mom a few days before.
It is a ranch style house, but with enough extras that it doesn't feel too "cookie-cutter." My favorite features are the fireplace, vaulted ceilings, and master suite. It also has an oversize garage with built in storage shelves, and a big, sunny kitchen with a huge window looking out into the yard.
We love the location. It is central to both our places of work, plus close to friends and family in Ashland and Talent. We are right on the outskirts of Phoenix. One block past our house, the road dead ends into an orchard. There is also a pumpkin patch right down the road. We have several friends in the neighborhood. And get this -- Chelsea and George are only a block away! She & I both think it is fate that we will keep the Church Street gang going for the next generation.
All this became official when our offer was accepted on Nov. 9, and we are now in escrow. If all goes smoothly, we will close on Dec. 8, and everyone can come see it over Christmas!
